Could the No. 2 seed make for an easier postseason path for the Boston Celtics?

Sometimes, the tradeoff of the path a team would take to get the top seed, hold it, and then get through the opponents that matchup brings can be arduous.

The conventional wisdom is it is always better to have home-court advantage through the NBA Finals. Sometimes obtaining the top seed, holding it and advancing through the opponents that spot produces can create unintended and unwelcome results, as the Boston Celtics discovered in the 2022 NBA Finals.

This season, the Celtics will likely earn the second seed, and could end up with an easier path through the Eastern Conference playoffs.

To hear the logic behind this, the hosts of the CLNS Media “Vitamin Cs” podcast took a deep dive into how such a scenario could shape up.

Take a look at the clip embedded above to hear what they had to say.
