Some RBs visits:
— #Texas RB Roschon Johnson continues to generate interest, visiting the #Bucs today. That's one of 8 workouts or visits.
— #TCU RB Kendre Miller visited the #Cowboys on Monday and Tuesday and the #Saints today and tomorrow.— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) April 5, 2023
Running back Bijan Robinson isn’t the only ball carrier getting noticed out of Texas.
The Longhorns had an impressive tandem of Robinson and running back Roschon Johnson, and the latter is getting some draft hype as well. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers certainly seem impressed, as NFL’s Ian Rapoport reported on Wednesday that the Bucs hosted Johnson for a top-30 pre-draft visit.
Johnson was impressive in his own right at Texas, averaging 6.0 yards per carry on 93 attempts in 2022. He ran for 5 touchdowns that year and caught another as well, so he has the ability to be a versatile back. His best season came in 2019 when he ran for 649 yards and 7 touchdowns.
The Draft Network’s scouting profile praises Johnson’s his power, vision and patience, but criticizes his pad level and lateral agility. The report projects him as having third-round value.
