After dropping two of three games in an offensive-heavy series with No. 3 Florida last weekend, Auburn baseball makes a quick turnaround when it hosts Texas A&M for a three-game set beginning Thursday night at Plainsman Park.
Both teams competed in the College World Series last season, and both teams enter this weekend’s series with a 3-6 record in SEC play. The Tigers have played challenging series on the road at No. 5 Arkansas and No. 3 Florida, earning just one win between those two series. Their lone series win was against a struggling Georgia squad two weeks ago.
The Aggies have suffered a similar fate by being swept by No. 8 Tennessee and dropping two of three at home to No. 1 LSU. Last weekend, Texas A&M took care of defending national champion Ole Miss by winning two of three games over the hungover Rebels.
What else do we need to know about the Aggies ahead of this weekend’s series at Plainsman Park? We called upon Cameron Ohnysty, managing editor of Aggies Wire to shed more light on Texas A&M’s season. He, as usual, delivered.
