The Atlanta Falcons have invested considerable resources into the tight end position over the last two offseasons. After drafting Kyle Pitts fourth overall in 2021, the team traded a seventh-round pick to the Patriots for tight end Jonnu Smith a few weeks ago.
Don’t expect head coach Arthur Smith to stop adding tight ends anytime soon, though. On Tuesday, Justin Melo of the Draft Network reported that Atlanta met virtually with Old Dominion tight end Zack Kuntz.
.@ODUFootball TE Zack Kuntz ran a 4.55, leaped 30" Vert & 10-8 Broad.
Kuntz recently met virtually w/ #Falcons, #Eagles, #Giants, #Packers, #49ers, #Rams & #Chargers, to name a few. Hot commodity.@zackkuntz_717 x @TheDraftNetworkhttps://t.co/TQMs2z8Q4a

The 6-foot-8, 255-pound tight end is extremely athletic for his size. While his 2022 campaign was somewhat forgettable — 12 catches, 144 receiving yards and two touchdowns — Kuntz finished with 72 catches for 692 receiving yards and five touchdowns in 2021.
The Pro Football Focus big board has Kuntz ranked as the 125th overall prospect in the 2023 NFL draft class. Atlanta also reportedly has meetings scheduled with Texas linebacker DeMarvion Overshown, TCU wide receiver Quentin Johnston, ECU running back Keaton Mitchell and Florida QB Anthony Richardson.
