Florida baseball opened up its Southeastern Conference schedule on Thursday, May 16, with a 3-0 victory over the visiting Alabama Crimson Tide — then ranked No. 24 in the nation while the Gators were ranked No. 5 — inside Condron Family Ballpark in Gainesville, Florida.
[autotag]Brandon Sproat[/autotag] got the start for the Orange and Blue in the opener of the three-game series and did not disappoint, hurling a complete-game shutout allowing just one hit and a pair of walks while striking out 11 ‘Bama batters. Freshman [autotag]Cade Kurland[/autotag] broke the game open in the sixth inning with a go-ahead, two-run homer to left field and that was all the Gators needed to prevail.
Take a look below at highlights from Sproat’s career-best outing along with Florida’s SEC-opening win over Alabama in Gainesville.
