Lathan Sommerville ranks Rutgers basketball in his top seven.

Lathan Sommerville, a four-star center, has included Rutgers basketball in the top seven programs he released this week.

Sommerville has a top seven that includes Villanova, Rutgers, Seton Hall, Bradley, Xavier, Missouri and Virginia Tech. A 6-foot-10 center from the Skill Factory (Atlanta, GA), Sommerville is a four-star and ranked the No. 92 recruit in the nation according to Rivals.

He also held offers from programs such as Georgia, Georgia Tech, Gonzaga, Ohio State, Saint Louis and Wake Forest among others.

Sommerville took an official visit to Rutgers in February and was impressed with the Scarlet Knights.

“The visit was great. What really stood out to me was the coaching staff and how close everyone was,” Sommerville told Rutgers Wire in February about his visit to the Scarlet Knights.

“They’re definitely in the mix. I can tell it’s a competitive program and the guys are getting better.”

Georgia is emerging as a hot recruiting turf for Rutgers basketball in recent months.
