A photographic look back at Micah Shrewsberry’s time as Penn State head coach

Let’s take a photographic look back at Micah Shrewsberry’s brief tenure as head coach of Penn State

Penn State may not have had a long time with head coach [autotag]Micah Shrewsberry[/autotag], but he certainly put in a good amount of work in his two seasons in Happy Valley. Shrewsberry came to Penn State as a top-notch assistant coach working with programs like Butler and Purdue and the NBA’s Boston Celtics preparing him for the role of being a first-time head coach, and he was quick to leave his mark on the program. Shrewsberry worked the transfer portal to fill out his first roster with All-American Jalen Pickett and Camren Wynter and Andrew Funk, all of whom were significant contributors to Penn State’s first NCAA Tournament team in a decade in the 2022-23 season.

Shrewsberry took over a program that was not far off from a possible tournament berth in 2020 (if not for the season shutting down, Penn State likely would have been in), but there were still some obstacles to maneuver through in his first season on the job as Penn State and college basketball attempted to return to some normalcy on the court. Penn State struggled a bit in Shrewsberry;’s first season but the groundwork was being paved for a step forward in 2022-23.

Here is a look back at some of the best photos of Micah Shrewsberry during his two seasons with the Nittany Lions before leaving to become the next head coach of Notre Dame.
