Pittsburgh’s John Hugley plans visit another ACC program next week

Former Pitt big man is set to visit a rival ACC program next week.

Recent reports indicate that we could see some movement within the ACC next season.

According to Joe Tipton of On3, the Pittsburgh big man is visiting Georgia Tech from Mar. 26 to 28.

Last season, Hugley appeared in 32 games with 31 starts for the Panthers. He played 29.6 minutes per game with 14.8 points and 7.9 rebounds. Pitt finished 11-21(6-14 in ACC play) under fourth-year head coach Jeff Capel.

In the 2022-23 season, Hugley would play in just eight games before being shut down due to an injury. He would enter the transfer portal on Mar. 14 prior to Pitt’s run in the NCAA Tournament.

New Georgia Tech head coach Damon Stoudamire appears to be wasting no time in trying to assemble his roster for next season. Stoudamire was named head coach on Mar. 13. He replaced Josh Pastner after seven seasons at the helm.

Georgia Tech is hoping to return to the level the Yellow Jackets played at during the 2003-2004 season when they played in the Final Four. Adding Hugley would be a step in the right direction.
