As the end of the college basketball season approaches, players are beginning to enter the NCAA transfer portal.
Northwestern State guard DeMarcus Sharp entered the transfer portal on Monday. He will be a graduate transfer with one year of eligibility remaining.
The 6-foot-3, 180-pound guard originally committed to Missouri State, but transferred to Northwestern State before the 2022 season.
“Northwestern State transfer DeMarcus Sharp, the Southland Player of the Year, tells ESPN he’s heard from Tennessee, Florida, UCF, Missouri, Saint Louis, Arkansas and Austin Peay since entering the portal,” ESPN’s Jeff Borzello announced.
Sharpe was named the 2023 Southland Conference Player of the Year, 2023 Southland Newcomer of the Year and earned first-team Southland All-Defense honors. He averaged 19.5 points 5.0 assists, 1.9 steals and 0.8 blocks per game.
