There is a tandem forming for the new-look Colorado Buffaloes football team that fans should be excited for. Get used to hearing “Sanders to Horn.”
Quarterback Shedeur Sanders and South Florida transfer wide receiver Jimmy Horn Jr. are massive additions and based on what head coach Deion Sanders and the QB himself had to say, that connection could flourish in 2023.
Coach Prime was first to meet with the media after the Buffs’ first spring practice on Sunday and he brought up Horn unsolicited in response to a question regarding Shedeur Sanders.
“If you watch practice, you can tell that he (Shedeur Sanders) and Jimmy and Travis (Hunter), they have something special,” Deion Sanders said. “Jimmy has done so much work indoors since we’ve arrived, and they know one another.”
Hearing that Shedeur Sanders has already meshed well with another newcomer is encouraging. When Shedeur Sanders took to the mic, I asked him about his relationship with Horn:
“Jimmy has great IQ,” Shedeur Sanders said. “He has great IQ. Some days, he (Horn) came out of the break the wrong way and we talk about it. I get on him about it and the next day it’s flawless. So that’s the thing with Jimmy, he has a good feel for this game.”
