The Wisconsin Badgers were able to close out against the Liberty Flames in a 75-71 victory on Saturday afternoon, to send them to the quarterfinal of the NIT. Wisconsin guard Chucky Hepburn scored a career-high 27 points to help the Badgers hold off the Flames.

Hepburn’s scoring has dropped since he suffered a knee injury in February, so it was great to see him commanding the court once again. His performance was needed with Steven Crowl’s minutes limited because of three first-half fouls including a technical. Regardless of the fouls, Crowl and forward Tyler Wahl combined for 30 points to help Wisconsin control the paint against Liberty.

The Badgers will move on to face the winner of the Oregon and UCF matchup on Tuesday or Wednesday.
