Eagles agree to a 2-year contract extension with Pro Bowl CB Darius Slay

After initial reports that he would be released, The Philadelphia Eagles have agreed to a contract extension with Darius Slay

Darius Slay is back like he never left, agreeing to a two-year contract extension to stay in Philadelphia through the 2025 season.

On Wednesday, reports surfaced that Slay would be released after being unable to agree on a restructured contract or new deal.

By late afternoon time, Slay was telling fans on social media that he might be back when asked about his future. By the mid-evening, Josina Anderson was reporting that Philadelphia was working to keep Slay after re-signing James Bradberry.

Late Wednesday evening, Slay’s wife Jennifer confirmed the news, followed by the star cornerback shortly afterward.

He’ll now likely finish his career in Philadelphia as the Eagles work to return to the Super Bowl in 2023.
