On one hand, fans of the Boston Celtics are being blessed with the best season performance-wise of star forward Jayson Tatum’s career. On the other hand, with that excellence have come significantly loftier expectations — and ones that have left fans irked when the St. Louis native and his club occasionally fall short of them.
Earlier in the season, his supporters could point to the Celtics’ ownership of the best record in the league. But slippage in that regard with a handful of avoidable losses sprinkled throughout the season has given ammunition to his critics, especially with Boston no longer the top dog in the Association in terms of record.
