Warriors G Klay Thompson passes Paul Pierce on NBA All-Time 3-Pointer List

The Golden State Warriors have two of the best shooters in league history that should occupy more accolades before their careers are over. Steph Curry is notably the all-time leader in career three-pointers, but his fellow splash brother Klay Thompson is rapidly making his ascent up the leaderboards.

Thompson rose to 11th all-time in made three-point shots passing Boston Celtics legend Paul Pierce. The multiple-time NBA All-Star clinched his new spot with a 23-point performance in Tuesday’s loss against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Thompson connected five times from long distance, further etching his name in NBA history.

The Warriors’ shooting guard has been fighting back to his elite form since suffering significant injuries beginning in the 2019 NBA Finals. He’s bounced back strongly this season, averaging 22 points per game and playing more minutes. Jamal Crawford is next on the list in tenth place, with 2,221 three-point makes in 1,327 games.

“Just being the player, I am just shaking off some rust, said Thompson to reporters last Sunday. “I mean, expect greatness, and now I’m on my way.”

Thompson hopes to capitalize on his personal milestone in the team’s next game Thursday in Memphis.
