Rumor: Andrew Berry eyeing trades for future picks or players

Berry is keeping all of his options open.

The NFL Scouting Combine rages on in Indianapolis as rumors of the offseason continue to leak. Dawgs By Nature’s Jared Mueller has done a great job organizing all of these rumors including one that Andrew Berry, the general manager of the Cleveland Browns, has been discussing trading 2023 picks for players or future picks in 2024.

This makes a ton of sense with the Browns not having a ton of assets next year with big contract extensions starting to take up large numbers of cap space. The team will need to balance these contracts out with players on rookie deals to stay competitive. Trading a pick for a player like Elijah Moore or Terrace Marshall instead of waiting to see who falls in the draft is a great idea as well.
