It was just how Washington wanted it, except for the final score.
In a slow-paced contest, the Huskies held Oregon’s offense down, but they never accounted for Endyia Rogers. The Ducks’ guard scored 28 points and brought down a career-high 11 rebounds to defeat Washington 52-50 in the first round of the Pac-12 tournament. The win also possibly punched the Ducks’ ticket into the NCAA tournament.
Oregon will now face the tourney 1-seed Stanford at 2:30 pm on Thursday afternoon.
This was a possession-by-possession game for the entire 40 minutes and for a long while, it looked like the Huskies would take their second straight game over the Ducks. But a late 9-0 run gave Oregon the 45-43 lead with three minutes left put the Ducks in a position to win.
