As March gets closer, we will soon find out who is officially in and officially out. Conference play is in the final stretch with the annual conference tournaments on the horizon.
We are checking in with the latest bracketology, three teams that remained at the top of the coaches’ poll are jockeying for position as the true No. 1 overall seed. Teams such as the Texas Longhorns and [autotag]Baylor Bears[/autotag] are right on their heels as No. 2 seeds.
The [autotag]Kansas Jayhawks[/autotag] rejoin the No. 1 seeds in the latest edition. The other three are the Alabama Crimson Tide, [autotag]Purdue Boilermakers[/autotag], and the [autotag]Houston Cougars[/autotag].
In total there are eight teams in the Big 12, Big Ten, and SEC. The ACC is next up on the list with seven teams. Despite not having the season they expected, the North Carolina Tar Heels are among the last four in. They join the Memphis Tigers, [autotag]Mississippi State Bulldogs[/autotag], and Clemson Tigers.
The first four out are the USC Trojans, Wisconsin Badgers, [autotag]Arizona State Sun Devils[/autotag], and Penn State Nittany Lions. The next four out are the Oregon Ducks, Seton Hall Pirates, The New Mexico Lobos, and the Utah State Aggies.
One team that returned to the field is the [autotag]Kentucky Wildcats[/autotag]. They were listed as the No. 11 seed in the West Region. They would take on the Iowa Hawkeyes in the No. 6-11 seeded matchup.
