USC is having a great women’s basketball season, but imagine what this team could have been if Alissa Pili and Endyia Rogers hadn’t transferred. It’s true that some of the incoming transfers might not have come to Los Angeles to play for Lindsay Gottlieb, but what if the Trojans had a roster which gave Gottlieb the ability to play nine or 10 players and make more offense-for-defense (and defense-for-offense) substitutions?
At any rate, Pili is on track to be the 2023 Pac-12 Player of the Year with the Utah Utes. Endyia Rogers figures prominently in this Friday’s Oregon-USC game. We talked to Ducks Wire analyst Donald Smalley about this clash, and about Rogers’ place within it:

Trojans Wire:
“What is the matchup USC needs to win versus Oregon on Friday in L.A.?”
Donald Smalley, Ducks Wire:
“Guard play. If USC can hold Endyia Rogers down some, that would go a long way toward a USC win. The Trojans need to force her to turn the ball over, which she can do a little too much.”
