Nate Oats makes it clear: He never wants to leave Alabama

Alabama MBB head coach Nate Oats is happy to stay in Tuscaloosa and doesn’t have any plans to leave.

Alabama head basketball coach Nate Oats was hired in 2019 after spending four years as the head coach of the Buffalo men’s basketball program. Oats recently received a contract extension and pay raise from the University of Alabama, which will keep him in Tuscaloosa through the 2028-2029 season.

Oats was a relatively unknown name in the realm of college basketball. However, in his time at Alabama, he has taken over the game by inheriting a Crimson Tide team that was bounced in the first round of the 2019 NIT by Norfolk State, to being one of the top-five teams in the nation battling for the top overall seed in the NCAA Tournament.

When speaking with media, Oats discussed his longing to stay in Tuscaloosa and his refusal to talk to any other programs.

He also mentioned how his family has now become a part of the Alabama community. His daughter is a freshman at the University of Alabama.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow Nate Oats and Alabama basketball as the 2022-2023 season progresses.
