The Boston Celtics are almost unstoppable when Derrick White is playing well. The club is 19-2 in games in which the Colorado native has scored in double digits and 17-4 in games he’s recorded at least 4 assists. White has seen his role shrink slightly since the trade with the Indiana Pacers for backup point guard Malcolm Brogdon, but he has still found ways to help the team win.
Should the team try to get the onetime Colorado player going early by getting him involved in the offense? Is it better for White to find his own shot in the rhythm of the game? Or is the correlation we see between big games for the Celtics guard and victory something more complex?
The hosts of the CLNS Media “Garden Report” podcast took a deep dive into White’s recent play and how its tied to Boston winning after the Celtics beat up on the Charlotte Hornets last week.
Take a look at the clip embedded above to hear what they had to say about White’s role with the Celtics as the second half of the season starts to unfold.
