No. 9 Tennessee (16-3, 6-1 SEC) defeated LSU (12-7, 1-6 SEC), 77-56, at Pete Maravich Assembly Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana Saturday.
The Vols held LSU without a field goal during a nine-minute stretch in the first half.
Tennessee led, 39-22, at halftime.
Tennessee’s defense also forced the Tigers into 19 turnovers in the game and eight field goals over the first 20 minutes. The Vols scored 33 points off LSU’s miscues.
Josiah-Jordan James totaled a season-high 22 points and seven rebounds, while Zakai Zeigler recorded 12 points and 10 assists for the Vols.
Tyreke Key and Julian Phillips recorded 10 points each for Tennessee.
The Vols converted 12 three-point attempts and totaled 16 assists on 29 field goals.
KJ Williams led the Tigers with 16 points, while Trae Hannibal scored 10.
