Texas is trending for Georgia wide receiver transfer AD Mitchell. On Thursday morning, Texas received a crystal ball prediction for the elite talent.
The addition would be a huge get for Steve Sarkisian and his staff as Longhorns look to end their Big 12 championship drought. Mitchell is the type of player that could help get the team over the hump.
Some might wonder why Texas would add another wide receiver given the talent already on campus. Put simply, you always add talent.
The trio of Isaiah Neyor, Xavier Worthy and Jordan Whittington at receiver would be more than enough on its own. However, given Neyor and Whittington’s injury history, you can’t count on all three playing 14 games including postseason.
Texas will need to overwhelm opponents with talent. Neyor and Mitchell fit that description, in addition to a second year of dynamic tight end in Ja’Tavion Sanders.
Presently, the Longhorns don’t have championship depth. There’s a good chance Mitchell gets them there.
