Is it finally time for the Timelord to start for the Boston Celtics this season?

There has been some pushback on the notion of Boston Celtics center Robert Williams III starting for his team.

There has been some pushback on the notion of Boston Celtics center Robert Williams III joining the starting lineup after a long convalescence from a knee cleanup operation in the offseason. Interim head coach Joe Mazzulla questioned whether he would take the Timelord off the bench.

But after the team’s nailbiting win over the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday evening that saw Williams looking like himself, star Boston forward Jayson Tatum let it be known he would prefer the former Texas A&M player join him in the team’s starting lineup, even if he deferred to Mazzulla’s judgment in what will be best for the team as a whole.

This topic came up in a recent discussion on the CLNS Media “Garden Report” podcast. The hosts debated whether it makes more sense for Timelord to return to the starting lineup or continue coming off the bench.

Take a look at the clip embedded above to hear what they had to say about Williams’ best role in the Celtics’ rotation at present.
