In a surprise move, former Alabama wide receiver Christian Leary flipped his transfer commitment from Central Florida to Georgia Tech. Leary posted the news to his Instagram account.
The Florida native played sparingly in the two seasons that he spent in Tuscaloosa. He had three receptions for 10 yards, three carries for 22 yards, and a touchdown. Leary was not seen as a top option at wide receiver and transferred as a result.
He will head to Atlanta to play for former Alabama offensive line coach Brent Key. Last season, the Yellow Jackets finished with a 5-7 record. After hiring Key as the permanent head coach and making some moves through the transfer portal, the program could be trending in the right direction. Leary could be a key piece to the puzzle for years to come.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow Leary’s college career as well as other former Alabama players that have transferred elsewhere.
