After multiple games with a short-handed rotation, the Golden State Warriors were expecting the highly anticipated returns of Andrew Wiggins and Andre Iguodala on Saturday night against the Orlando Magic.
Despite the returns of Wiggins and Iguodala, a late scratch before tipoff removed an All-Star guard from Golden State’s starting lineup on Saturday night.
Shortly before the opening tip, Klay Thompson left pregame warmups and was ruled out against the Magic on Saturday night, The Warriors later announced Thompson was ruled out due to left knee soreness.

With Thompson out, Donte DiVincenzo moved back into the starting lineup. DiVincenzo had started nine games while both Steph Curry and Wiggins missed time.
Prior to being ruled out on Saturday, Thompson is coming off one of his most impressive stretches of the 2022-23 season. Thompson has tallied 30 or more points in three straight games, including a season-high 54-point performance against the Atlanta Hawks.
Over his last five games, Thompson is averaging 33.6 points on 46.6% shooting from the floor and 40% from beyond the arc with 5.6 boards and 3.2 assists in 39 minutes per game.
The Warriors are set to host the Magic on Saturday night at 5:30 p.m. PT at San Francisco’s Chase Center.
