A very scary situation played out on Monday night, when Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest on the field midway through the first quarter of the Week 17 game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
After tackling Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins, Hamlin collapsed on the field and was immediately given CPR. According to the team, his heartbeat was restored on the field. He was in critical condition as of early Tuesday morning.
“Damar Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest following a hit in our game versus the Bengals,” a team statement read. “His heartbeat was restored on the field and he was transferred to the UC Medical Center for further testing and treatment. He is currently sedated and listed in critical condition.”

The game was first temporarily suspended, and then later postponed.
The football world — including the Tennessee Titans and their players — were quick to send out prayers to the 24-year-old as he fights for his life.
In the midst of this frightening situation, Hamlin’s charity, “The Chasing M’s Foundation”, raised millions of dollars. Donations can be made right here.
And, from everyone here at Titans Wire, our thoughts and prayers are with Hamlin, his family and friends, and all of those who are taking care of him.
