The Buffalo Bills will be without two players in the trenches against the Miami Dolphins in Week 15.
On Thursday during his weekly interview with the team’s radio partner, WGR-550, Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott ruled defensive tackle Jordan Phillips and Ryan Bates out for the game.
Phillips is dealing with a shoulder injury. He previously said he was “fine” after he first sustained it, but Phillips is now set to miss his second-straight game.
Bates was injured just last week against the New York Jets. The Bills (10-3) scored on a rush from quarterback Josh Allen and Bates went down on the play due to an ankle injury.
Despite missing the matchup with the Dolphins (8-5), reports indicated earlier this week that Bates does not have a long-term injury.
Bates was replace by Greg Van Roten. The defensive line rotation filled in for Phillips.
On the positive injury front, linebacker Matt Milano (knee) and defensive tackle Ed Oliver (pectoral) will practice on Thursday. McDermott did not yet rule them out.
The team will announce full injury designations on Thursday afternoon. Bills Wire will provide that information once it’s made available.
