PHILADELPHIA — Young Philadelphia 76ers guard Jaden Springer was the 28th pick in the 2021 NBA draft and he has played six games in his career thus far. The 20-year-old out of Tennessee had the challenging circumstance of being drafted to a veteran team with title aspirations.
Therefore, the Sixers have not had the time to develop him on the floor. Springer needs game reps to grow as a player and become the player the Sixers believe he can be. That is why he spends a lot of time in the G League with the Delaware Blue Coats.
The second-year guard received 5:33 of garbage time in Tuesday’s win over the Sacramento Kings, but that’s not exactly what he envisioned when he declared for the NBA draft.
