After spending the first 11 games as the backup quarterback to Jacoby Brissett, the Cleveland Browns waived Josh Dobbs to make room to activate Deshaun Watson. The Browns opted to keep Kellen Mond, who still has two years left on his contract after 2022, as the future backup to Watson.
The Browns wanted Dobbs back on the practice squad after he cleared waivers, but instead, he has taken his talent elsewhere. After working out for the Denver Broncos, Dobbs then visited the Detroit Lions, where he ultimately decided to sign on to their practice squad.
We wish Dobbs the best of luck in Detroit and with the rest of his career.
