How sustainable is the Boston Celtics’ recent success? Playing like one of the best teams in the NBA in the early going of the 2022-23 season with an historically good offense and a defense that looks more like the league-leading defense it ended the 2021-22 season with, the Celtics are looking like a juggernaut that should be in the mix to hang the elusive Banner 18 this summer.
But there is a long way to go between now and winning four games in the 2023 NBA Finals — can Boston keep the wheels on throughout the rest of the season?
Given the team should get even better on defense once Defensive Player of the Year-caliber big man Robert Williams III and maybe even veteran forward Danilo Gallinari, too, there’s a case to be made that they can.
