The Brooklyn Nets (8-9) visit the Philadelphia 76ers (8-8) in a battle of who many thought would be 2 favorites to win the Eastern Conference in this Tuesday matchup. Tip-off from Wells Fargo Center is set for 7:30 p.m. ET (TNT). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Nets vs. 76ers odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.
The Nets enter on a 2-game win streak, recently defeating the Memphis Grizzlies 127-115 as 7.5-point home favorites Sunday. F Kevin Durant’s 26 points and G Ben Simmons’ 22 points helped the Nets secure the W. The Nets held the Grizzlies to 32.4% (12 of 37) shooting from beyond the arc.
The 76ers are coming off a tough 112-109 home loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves Saturday that ended a 3-game win streak. However, they covered the spread as 3.5-point underdogs for a 4th consecutive cover. C Joel Embiid finished with a game-high 32 points and G Shake Milton added 27 to lead five 76ers in double figures, but it was the lack of bench production that did them in. Philly’s reserves were outscored 37-20.

Nets at 76ers picks and predictions
Prediction
Nets 108, 76ers 92
Moneyline
AVOID.
The Nets (-310) should win this one, but the moneyline is not worth the risk. The line is mostly due to injuries to the 76ers squad, and while I do agree with the line, I wouldn’t advise anyone to bet on it.
Against the spread
LEAN NETS -7.5 (-115).
The shorthanded 76ers will have a hard time competing with the scoring of the Nets. The Nets have looked underwhelming this season and that has a lot to do with some off-court team issues, but they should be able to pick up an easy win in this one. Expect Simmons to show out in his return to Philly and, now that he’s finally hitting his stride, this team can be very dangerous heading forward.
Over/Under
BET UNDER 216.5 (-105).
Neither of these teams have a particularly great offense, and with the 76ers missing their best players, this is easily the BEST BET.
The 76ers are missing all 3 of their best players in Embiid, Harden and Maxey and while none of them are great defenders, they fit into their defensive system very well. The 76ers will have a hard time finding points and with the Nets possibly missing their best shooter in Watanabe and best big man in Claxton, they will be shorthanded as well. Neither team will see the offensive efficiency they would like and with 2 teams who have been mediocre, at best, points will be hard to come by.
