Rutgers football recruiting: Jireh Edwards gets an offer

Rutgers football offers Jireh Edwards.

Rutgers football is now the latest Power Five offer for Jireh Edwards. Wednesday’s offer also marks the third Big Ten offer for the talented safety.

A class of 2026 recruit out of Rock Creek Christian Academy (Upper Marlboro, MD), Edwards is already turning into one of the most-coveted defensive backs along the East coast. He holds Power Five offers from Arkansas, Boston College, Maryland, South Carolina and West Virginia in addition to Wednesday’s offer from Rutgers. He also pulled down offers in late October from Georgia, Virginia Tech and Penn State.

The talented defensive back plays for one of the top programs in Maryland. The Eagles are currently 6-3 on the season and have won four straight games, including a 28-6 win last weekend at Friendship Academy.

They play at Silver Oak Academy this weekend.
