Superstar Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum is starting his 2022-23 NBA season at an MVP-level pace, and the St. Louis native is already being mentioned among the handful of players in the early running for the coveted regular season honor.

And it is not just fans pushing such a narrative about the Celtics star this season. Even national analysts are seeing something different about his game in 2022-23. The hosts of the ESPN “NBA Today” show have gone so far as to compare Tatum to his friend and mentor, the late Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant.
