Should the Boston Celtics add another big man as soon as possible?

Can Luke Kornet be a contributor, or are the Celtics wise to be looking at potential trade exception targets?

With Boston Celtics reserve forward Grant Williams suspended for making contact with an official during Boston’s loss to the Chicago Bulls earlier in the week, the Celtics faced the Cleveland Cavaliers’ formidable frontcourt of Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley with a significant size disadvantage.

The team is still trying to navigate playing without starting center Robert Williams III and veteran forward Danilo Gallinari. Without Grant, the team was even thinner at the 4 and 5.

The Celtics had no choice but to lean on significant minutes from end-of-bench rotational bigs Blake Griffin, Noah Vonleh and Luke Kornet, all of whom have their pros and cons, skills and deficiencies.

During the game, the Celtics started to build momentum after turning to a double-big pairing of Griffin and Kornet. But, the use of double bigs came back to bite them.

Can Boston figure out a way to right the ship and get its defense back on track? Can Luke Kornet be a contributor, or would the Celtics be wise to look at potential trade exception targets? Take a look at the clip embedded above to hear what the hosts of the CLNS Media “Garden Report” podcast had to say about this important issue.
