In case you missed it, Noah Ruggles was named the Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week Monday. #B1G

Making all of your field goals in a game in which a lot of them were attempted goes a long way in recognition, as it should. For his efforts against Iowa, Ohio State kicker Noah Ruggles was named the Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week.

If it weren’t for Ruggles, Ohio State may not have scored in the first half. The Buckeyes got the ball in Iowa’s territory on four drives and stalled in all of them. No matter — Ruggles stepped up and went 4-of-4 and put 16 points on the board for OSU before the Buckeyes found their groove on offense in the second half.

Ruggles made field goals from 46, 41, 35, and 26 yards and also made all six of his extra points. For the season, the Ohio State kicker is 6-of-7 on field goal attempts this year and 47-for-47 in extra point attempts. Going back to last season, Ruggles is 26-of-28 on field goals and has made all 121 extra-point attempts.

Ruggles is the sixth Ohio State player to be recognized by the Big Ten in its weekly awards so far this season.
