Lady Vols record fifth consecutive shutout, ninth during 2022 season

The Lady Vols record five straight shutouts versus SEC opponents for the first time in program history.

No. 18 Tennessee (10-3-2, 6-1-1 SEC) defeated Auburn (6-5-5, 2-5-1 SEC), 1-0, Thursday at Auburn Soccer Complex in Auburn, Alabama.

The Lady Vols recorded its fifth consecutive shutout against Southeastern Conference opponents for the first time in program history.

Thursday’s win at Auburn is the Lady Vols’ ninth shutout during the season. Goalkeeper Lindsey Romig recorded four saves against the Tigers.

Kameron Simmonds scored in the 74th minute for Tennessee. Jenna Stayart was credited with an assist.

Tennessee outshot the Tigers, 19-16, with nine attempts landing on goal.

Auburn recorded four shots on goal.

The Lady Vols have allowed two goals on the road in SEC competition this season.
