Well that went about as bad as it could have gone for the Oklahoma Sooners. After forcing a three-and-out to open the game, the Texas Longhorns found their stride and did just about everything they wanted to against the Sooners to jump out to a 28-0 halftime lead.
Quinn Ewers was as advertised in the first half. Whenever the Longhorns needed him to make a throw, he came up big with fantastic ball placement and poise.
The Oklahoma offense seemed to find some running room with the wildcat ran by Brayden Willis or Eric Gray, but just when it looked like they might be able to get a score, Gray was called upon to throw a jump pass off of the direct snap.
The Sooners had to do something because they haven’t been able to throw the football with Davis Beville at quarterback in place of Dillon Gabriel.
It’s been a terrible first half for the Oklahoma Sooners and social media reacted accordingly.
