It’s been a long summer, hockey fans, but the wait is officially over!
There will be 104 days between the awarding of the Stanley Cup to the Colorado Avalanche and the beginning of the 2022-23 NHL season. A lot has happened since then! The NHL draft came and went. Free agency had some surprising moments. Even the trade market had some interesting movement as the summer went along.
But now, it’s time to turn our attention to the 2022-23 NHL season! Every team will begin at a clean 0-0-0 slate, with hope once again filling the hearts of all 32 NHL fanbases. Well, most of them anyway.
The 2022-23 NHL season will begin on Friday, October 7 when the San Jose Sharks take on the Nashville Predators at 2 p.m. ET in the 2022 NHL Global Series. The rest of the NHL will begin their seasons on Tuesday, October 11, with the Tampa Bay Lightning visiting the New York Rangers at 7:30 p.m. ET.
