Watch: Evan Engram touchdown overturned after official review

Should this Evan Engram catch have counted as a touchdown?

A spectacular throw and catch that was ruled a touchdown for the Jacksonville Jaguars was overturned after an official review.

Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence — who already threw one dime on the run in the red zone for a touchdown Sunday — appeared to do it again when he rolled to his left and fired to tight end Evan Engram.

Engram, 28, caught the pass in the end zone near the left sideline before he was belted out of bounds by a Los Angeles Chargers defender. But after a lengthy review, it was ruled that Engram was unable to keep his feet down before making the catch.

While CBS announcers Greg Gumbel and Adam Archuleta speculated that it looked like Engram’s right heel may have come off the turf before he caught the pass, they also thought it may be too close to call conclusively.

After officials overturned the play, Lawrence was stopped five yards short of the goal line on a keeper on third down. The Jaguars settled for a 23-yard field goal from Riley Patterson — his third of the day from inside 25 yards — to make it 16-7 late in the first half.
