Miami Heat rookie Nikola Jovic on Tuesday threw out the ceremonial first pitch for the Miami Marlins as they hosted the Chicago Cubs at loanDepot park.

Jovic was on hand for the festivities as the Cubs and Marlins continued a three-game series. The Heat posted a video preview of Jovic preparing for the occasion, and the 19-year-old stepped to the mound and delivered a strike.

Unfortunately, Jovic wasn’t treated to a win by the home team; the Cubs took the game, 2-1, behind a two-RBI effort by third baseman David Bote. Chicago improved to 63-85 while Miami dropped to 61-88.

Jovic, the 25th pick in the draft, completed a stint with the Heat in summer league. He averaged 8.5 points and five rebounds in four games between California and Las Vegas. He had his best game on July 5 with 25 points and nine rebounds.

The appearances by Jovic come as the offseason is set to wrap up with training camp beginning on Sept. 27. The Heat are excited about the addition of Jovic and believe he will have the opportunity to log minutes off the bench.

The Heat begin their preseason schedule on Oct. 4.
