While most of the dust has settled, the story of the offseason surrounded former Golden State Warriors turned Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant. Although his trade demands have seemed to shift into reverse, there is still chatter around Durant’s offseason trade request away from Brooklyn.
During a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Stephen Curry was asked about the potential of reuniting with Durant in Golden State after a trade. While Curry didn’t shy away from discussing the chance to bring Durant back, the reigning NBA Finals Most Valuable Player also revealed his thoughts on his former teammate being traded to the Boston Celtics.
According to Rolling Stone, Curry discussed his opinion on Durant’s potential trade partner (Boston) with legendary rapper Snoop Dogg. Curry praised Boston forward Jaylen Brown while agreeing Durant was better off staying with the Nets instead of moving to the Celtics.
Via Rolling Stone:
Of the Boston Celtics, he said, “They have a little bit of everything, but they would have to deal with the organizational transition to get rid of Jaylen (Brown). He’s such a pivotal piece. … If they would have done that …” Curry broke apart his fingertips in an explosion, and agreed with Snoop that Durant was better off staying with the Nets.

Boston was once rumored as a potential favorite to land Durant in an offseason blockbuster deal. However, with Durant’s request for a trade fading, it appears the 12-time All-Star will stay in Brooklyn for the start of the 2022-23 NBA season.
Both Durant and the Nets, along with Brown, Jayson Tatum and the Celtics will vie in the Easter Conference to dethrone Curry and the Warriors, who are reigning NBA champions.
Curry and the Warriors will meet the Celtics in an NBA Finals rematch on Dec. 10 at Chase Center. The Warriors will travel to meet Durant, Kyrie Irving and the Nets in a prime-time battle in Brooklyn on Dec. 21.
