Rams only drop one spot in Week 2 power rankings

The Rams were embarrassed and steamrolled by the Bills in Week 1, but their fall in the latest power rankings was minimal

The Los Angeles Rams would’ve loved to start their title defense with a win in Week 1, but they really weren’t close to beating the Buffalo Bills on Thursday night. They were crushed, 31-10, failing to score a single point in the second half.

There were some bright spots, like Cooper Kupp catching 13 passes and a touchdown, as well as the defense forcing four turnovers, but the team as a whole looked unprepared for the season opener.

Surprisingly, they aren’t being crushed in power rankings. Touchdown Wire only dropped the Rams one spot from No. 2 to 3 this week, a minimal fall for the defending champions.

The Rams didn’t have a Super Bowl homecoming against the Buffalo Bills. They had a rude awakening at SoFi Stadium. Perhaps they aren’t the best team in the NFL, but they are still among the best teams in the NFC and can still have a great season.

The Chiefs, who blew out the Cardinals, took the Rams’ spot at No. 2, while the Bills remain the top team in this week’s power rankings. The Rams are the only 0-1 team in the top five, which is rounded out by the Buccaneers and Chargers.

The 49ers are the second-highest ranked NFC West team at No. 15, followed by the Cardinals (22) and Seahawks (27).
