After an impressive preseason for former Florida Gator running back [autotag]Dameon Pierce[/autotag], who was plucked in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL draft by the Houston Texans, the bulldozing rusher hit a wall in Week 1 against the Indianapolis Colts.
Pierce had put up an average of over six yards per carry in his two prior appearances, showing an explosiveness that got the Texans’ fanbase frothing at what could be a mid-round steal. However, against the Colts Pierce finally got his chance against the Colts, he tallied 11 rushes for 33 yards for an average of three yards per carry. He also logged a six-yard pass reception in what was ultimately a 20-20 tie.
