The Los Angeles Rams will officially be without their No. 3 receiver to open the season on Thursday night. On the final injury report Wednesday, Van Jefferson was ruled out due to a knee injury. He did not practice at all this week and is still recovering from offseason surgery.
With Jefferson out, the Rams will need Ben Skowronek and Tutu Atwell to step up as the third option. They could also use more two-tight end sets with Tyler Higbee and Brycen Hopkins, rather than leaning so heavily on 11 personnel.
No timetable has been given for Jefferson’s return, but the Rams are taking it one day at a time with the wide receiver.
