ESPN analyst Dan Mullen offers his updated playoff projection ahead of Week 2

Mullen’s latest projections have Alabama making the playoffs, but missing the national championship game. Find out how.

Dan Mullen, former Florida Gators, and Mississippi State Bulldogs head coach are now with ESPN as a college football analyst. After spending over a decade in the SEC, Mullen decided to take some time away from the game and assess his coaching options, but in the meantime, he has been doing an outstanding job with ESPN.

Mullen has really started to find his voice at ESPN and we are watching his role increase. After Week 1, Mullen has updated his playoff projections and for the most part, it makes sense. He predicts that Alabama and Georgia will represent the SEC while Michigan and Ohio State will both represent the Big Ten in the 2022 playoffs.

Alabama takes on Ohio State in one semi-final where Mullen ultimately sees the Crimson Tide falling. In the other semi-final, he predicts Georgia will beat Michigan en route to back-to-back National Titles. Let’s just hope he’s wrong.
