Nebraska running back Anthony Grant was named the ‘Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon. The Junior ran 23 times for 189 yards and two touchdowns in the Cornhuskers’ 38-17 win over North Dakota on Saturday. He shares this week’s honor with Penn State Quarterback Sean Clifford.
Grant is the first Husker to win Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week since Devine Ozigbo during the 2018 season. He transferred to Nebraska from the New Mexico Military Institute, where he ran for 2,549 yards and 28 touchdowns for two seasons, averaging 7.1 yards per carry. Grant was also named the 2021 NJCAA Male Student-Athlete of the Year and the Division I Offensive Player of the Year.
