A former Husker offensive lineman continues to impress in his first fall camp in the National Football League. Center Cam Jurgens made another big impression on scouts, coaches, fans, and teammates alike with his performance against the Cleveland Browns over the weekend. This isn’t the first time the Beatrice, Nebraska native gave Eagles nation something to be excited about, as his debut against the New York Jets gave fans a reason to look forward to the future.
Current All-Pro Eagles Center Jason Kelce has been singing Jurgens’s praises throughout camp and played a crucial role in getting the Husker center to Philidelphia. Kelce told the Philadelphia Inquirer’s Josh Tolentino that he helped evaluate Jurgens during pre-draft evaluations. He told Tolentino,
“I’m pretty excited about the kid, I liked him a lot. I like his tools. I like his mentality. I think I’ve looked at a few guys the past couple of years when they’ve asked my opinions. He’s here obviously because [offensive line coach] Jeff Stoutland and Howie Roseman, Nick Sirianni, all these people, watched his tape and really believe in him. I think, although he does have a lot of similar traits to me, he’s going to be his own player, and I’m looking forward to helping out any of these young guys, in particular Cam.”
The Eagle’s following preseason action is Saturday against the Miami Dolphins. Below is a collection of media and scout evaluations of Jurgens’s plays against Cleveland over the weekend.
