Texas’ fantastic summer on the recruiting trail continues as the Longhorns have added four-star running back Cedric Baxter to its 2023 class.

247Sports ranks Baxter as the No. 2 running back in the nation and the No. 7 overall prospect in the state of Florida. He has a chance to become the top running back in the class with a solid senior season.

He received all-state recognition after a monster junior season at Edgewater High School. Baxter racked up nearly 1,800 total yards and 26 touchdowns on an 8.6 yards per carry clip. He is now in line to be the next great running back at the University of Texas.
Baxter’s commitment keeps Texas comfortably in the top five in the country in the 2023 overall recruiting class rankings. Steve Sarkisian and his staff must be ecstatic with the direction the class is trending ahead of the season.
