Texas remains hot on the recruiting trail. The Longhorns have added one of the state of Texas’ top defenders to its 2023 class.
Four-star EDGE Derion Gullette announced his commitment to Texas on Friday afternoon. Gullette chose the Horns over the likes of Texas A&M and Ohio State.
247Sports composite ranks Gullette as the No. 18 EDGE and the No. 148 overall prospect in the 2023 cycle.
The 6-foot-2, 220-pound Gullette can do it all on the football field. As a linebacker he picked up 125 tackles, five tackles for loss, three sacks and five turnovers forced. He was just as dynamic on offense where he hauled in 62 passes for 1,430 yards and 14 scores as a wide receiver.
He excels as a three-sport athlete as he competes in both basketball and track outside of football.
Gullette’s commitment has sparked tons of engagements on social media. Here is a look at some of Twitter’s best reactions to Texas’ newest member of the 2023 class.
