While there are reports that the Brooklyn Nets are currently focusing on trying to retain disgruntled stars Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, many believe Durant will be traded anyways. ESPN’s Bobby Marks proposed a four-team trade that would see Durant land in Phoenix.
Earlier this week TV analyst Marks discussed Kevin Durant’s trade request and a possible multi-team trade to ship the former MVP, while sending valuable assets to every organization.
Marks suggested that the Nets send Durant to his preferred trade destination in the Western Conference, the Phoenix Suns. The Suns would ship Mikal Bridges to Brooklyn, while sending their young big man DeAndre Ayton to the Indiana Pacers.
Indiana will send Myles Turner to join up with Bridges in Brooklyn, leaving the final team in the four-team trade, the Jazz. Utah will send Donovan Mitchell to the Nets, while receiving guard Ben Simmons and Cam Thomas alongside a haul of draft picks. The Jazz would receive up-to five first round picks, with various swap options.
Nets receive: Donovan Mitchell, Mikal Bridges, Myles Turner
Suns receive: Kevin Durant
Pacers receive: Deandre Ayton
Jazz receive: Ben Simmons, Cam Thomas, 5 first-round picks.
There are a ton of reports going around, making the Nets seemingly unsure of what to do with their disgruntled stars. One day rumors suggest that Irving wants to be moved and the next, the Nets want to keep him for the upcoming season, and vice versa with Durant.
Brooklyn needs to really plan out their future and make decisions about their superstars.
